What will be the next big thing? What will be the technology boom? Since last 20 years, people have seen gradual increase in technology. Within the last 20 years of technology it has been observed that internet services have emerged throughout the world. Many internet platforms such as Google, Facebook, Alibaba, Twitter etc. has earned billion dollars through this internet. Internet was unapproachable in 90’s but now the trend has changed. Now internet can be accessed anywhere. So, what comes next to all this? Can we see something big in this Internet industry?
Yes, the next big thing in the internet industry is Internet of Things (IoT). Sowhat is IoT? Is it something having internet on its own or something used for connecting internet like a router? Internet had been used widely in sharing information and communicating each other throughout the world. Now the concept of Internet of things is something different. It is about to communicate with the objects having sensors which can transmit data to the cloud via internet. And where the received data can be stored, analysed and used to make decision. The decision can be made by a computer or human who receives that data. IoT concept has a stronger impact on the communication of machine to machine and Human to machine. Receiving results on your mobile phones or web is not making life easier but also very convenient for managing records. IoT is helping us in making life easier, efficient and classy. The IoT concept was raised back in 1999 by a British Entrepreneur which is now becoming huge in internet industry.
Internet of thing can be anything from house hold appliances to implanted heart monitor. There are various application of internet of things such as Home Automation, Smart Cities, Security and Tracking etc. Since, nowadays our life is affected by social media, search engines up to a great extent, Internet of things will also affect the way of living in the near future. It will modernize personal life along with professional life. Research and development of different applications are in progress. There are certain sectors on which research for improvement is being made which are privacy and security of data and most important integration of hardware and software.
Considering all the latest innovation in technology, IoT is considered to be the boom over the next 5 years. It will not only change the way of living and working but also be a great start up for new entrepreneurs.
